# Demo

Explore practical demonstrations of the SSIS Catalog Migration Wizard (SCMW). These walkthroughs cover common SSISDB migration, export/import, environment-copying, and catalog-reorganization scenarios.

## 1. Migrate SSISDB from One SQL Server to Another

This demonstration walks through migrating an SSIS Catalog from a source SQL Server to a target SQL Server.

### What this demo covers

- Select a source and target SSIS Catalog.
- Migrate SSISDB content between supported SQL Server versions and supported SSIS hosting environments.
- Review catalog items and migration settings before running the migration.
- Use the migration workflow to transfer the selected catalog objects.

## 2. Export and Import SSISDB Between SQL Servers in Different Networks or Domains

Use an SCMW export file when the source and target servers cannot connect directly, are in different networks or domains, or when you need a portable backup for a later restore.

### What this demo covers

- Export selected SSIS Catalog items to an SCMW file.
- Transfer the export file between environments without requiring a direct connection between the servers.
- Import the exported catalog items into a target SSISDB.
- Use an SCMW file as a backup or staged migration package.

## 3. Copy an SSIS Environment from One SQL Server to Another

This workflow is useful when you need to copy an SSIS environment to another SSISDB and adjust its variable values for the destination environment.

### What this demo covers

- Select the environment to copy.
- Transfer the environment and its variables to the target SSISDB.
- Update environment variable values to match the target environment.
- Review the configuration before completing the operation.

## 4. Copy SSISDB Objects Between Folders on the Same Server

Create a separate test or staging setup by copying selected SSIS Catalog objects to different folders on the same SQL Server.

### What this demo covers

- Select the source catalog items and destination folder structure.
- Copy SSIS Catalog objects within the same SQL Server instance.
- Use folder-based copies to create a test environment from an existing development environment.
- Review the selected items and target configuration before proceeding.

## Before You Start

- Review the [Prerequisites](https://azureops.org/docs/ssis-catalog-migration-wizard/scmw-prerequisites/) for supported source and target environments, permissions, and connectivity.
- Follow the [Getting Started](https://azureops.org/docs/ssis-catalog-migration-wizard/scmw-getting-started/) guide for the step-by-step migration workflow.
- For disconnected environments, review the SCMW export/import workflow before starting.
- For repeatable migrations, see the [Automation](https://azureops.org/docs/ssis-catalog-migration-wizard/scmw-automation/) documentation.
